Autumn Orchid Roundup

Autumn Orchid Roundup
We have had a hectic few weeks with lots of travelling around the country to shows. Since the start of September, we have been to orchid shows in South Wales, Dorset, Nottingham, Surrey and North Devon, quite a few miles covered! Our last show of the year is near Portsmouth on 25th October so if you want to see what we have already planned for next year take a look at our 2026 Show Dates.
It has been wonderful to see so many of our regular customers, and new ones too, on our travels, thank you for all your continued business, it is much appreciated.
All the shows had beautiful displays of orchids grown by members of many orchid societies around the country, well done to all the amateur growers.
Our Monthly Open Weekends have also been busy with a group of ten making terrariums at the October Workshop and a fantastic day when the Bournemouth Orchid Society brought a coach full of enthusiasts to visit the nursery. The Newton Abbot Photographic Club also visited and had a lovely morning taking pictures of the orchids.
We were concerned about the impact that a nearby road closure, which will be in place until September 2026, would have on our passing trade and local business. It certainly has caused a stir and is the talk of the town, but we have been overwhelmed by the support of our local regular customers, especially in our café, who have been very loyal and continuing to visit for the excellent coffee in spite of some needing to do a long diversion to get here. Thank you and please continue to support us and spread the word! This is a very long-term issue!
Lots more to look forward to into November with more workshops, clinic day and Christmas on the horizon.
Happy Orchid Growing!
