Mainland UK delivery
We offer 1 main Express delivery service for mainland UK addresses. Orders need to be received by 12noon in order to go out the same day as our carrier collects just after midday.
We despatch orders Monday-Thursday. If your order is received after 12noon on a Thursday then your order will not be despatched until the following Monday. Otherwise it is likely your order will get caught in transit over the weekend, which we try to avoid.
Delivery usually takes 1 day but can be 2, so we prefer to despatch earlier in the week where possible.
If you have any query or require delivery on a particular day then please do call first to check or select this day as you place your order online. There are sometimes circumstances when mail order is suspended or delayed due to weather conditions or events meaning the despatch team are not at the nursery. In these instances we will try to email you with a confirmation of when the delivery is expected.
Any refunds available for late or non-delivery of orders is at the discretion of Burnham Nurseries Ltd depending on the circumstances.

Small Items Postage
Order up to 8 small items and we will be able to despatch with Royal Mail at a reduced cost.

Compost:
20L and 60L bags cannot always be sent in the same box as plants, they usually need to have a separate delivery charge per bag.
UK Highlands & Islands delivery
There are surcharges applied to certain postcodes around the UK. This includes the Highlands & Islands of Scotland, the Isle of Man, The Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight.
Highlands of Scotland £24.99
2-3 days service, despatch days are Monday and Tuesday.
Isle of Wight £16.99
2-3 days service, despatch days are Monday to Wednesday. Applicable to all Isle of Wight postcodes.

Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, EU and the Rest of the World delivery
Post Brexit there are now CITES permits and Phytosanitary Certificates that need to be obtained in order to trade with many orchids out of mainland UK and the high cost of these is extremely prohibitive to our customers.
A Phytosanitary Certificate is required and is issued by a Plant Health Inspector which costs £76.00 at a minimum.
CITES permits are also required and these are £90 per genus. Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, Vanda and Cymbidium hybrids are exempt from CITES.

Delivery Policy
The address you give on your order is the address we will despatch your order to, so please make sure the address you enter is correct. If you need to change the address please contact us as soon as possible as we will need to know before your order is sent.
If you request for your parcel to be left or delivered to a neighbour because you won’t be in to receive it yourself, then please be certain it is a safe place as we cannot accept liability if your order is lost, stolen or damaged after it has been delivered. Responsibility for your parcel will be transferred to you once your order has been delivered.
We will aim to despatch your order as soon as possible unless you have requested a specified delivery date. We will then aim to get it delivered as close as possible to that date. However we do not like to have orchids in transit over the weekend so if you have requested delivery on a Monday or Tuesday we may have to get it to arrive the Thursday/Friday before.
If your parcel has been delayed please get in contact with us directly as soon as possible, so we can work to resolve the problem. Any refunds available for late or non-delivery of orders is at the discretion of Burnham Nurseries Ltd depending on the circumstances.
We understand that our shipping costs are higher than other companies, however this is mainly due to the size, shape and weight of the parcels we send out. We use a lot of recyclable packaging in order to keep your order as safe as possible in transit which is also partly included in the cost. We do not make money on our shipping costs.
