The really spectacular ‘Tulip Orchids’ are known for their very showy and fragrant flowers. Shaped literally like a large, waxy tulip, the flowers are produced from the base of large, rounded pseudobulbs with very big summer leaves. The foliage drops in the winter when the plants need to be kept dry and cool. Look into the centre of the flower and the lip is rocking like a cradle, giving the plant the other name of the ‘cradle orchid’.
Yellow flowers with a red speckled centre.
