Coelogyne ochracea

This is one of our all time favourites, the wonderful fragrance that they produce is the scent of spring.

The short sprays of white flowers have a deep orange/yellow centre to the lip.

This is a Himalayan orchid and needs distinct wet and dry seasons throughout the year. Through spring and summer we are watering regularly and spraying the leaves too.

The flowers emerge from the centre of the new leaf growth in spring which continues to grow after the flowers have gone, making a new pseudobulb at its base.

Keep drier and cool, dropping to 10°C, during the winter.
