Acianthera violacea

This Central American species used to be classified in the genus Pleurothallis but it is not really a miniature like the other species in that group. It has long, arching sprays of small purple half-open flowers that grow from where the rounded leaf meets the supporting stem.

It likes to be kept damp most of the year, a little drier in the winter, with shade in the summer. Our plants are growing in medium grade bark.

Cool growing needing a minimum of 10°C
