Our Orchid Festival Weekend is back for 2025!

At Burnham Nurseries on 

Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th August 2025 

10:00am - 4:00pm


We are excited to announce more details on our Orchid Festival that we are holding on 16th & 17th August 2025.
Our Shop, Nursery and Café will all be OPEN 10am-4pm.
Free entry & parking.


We will be featuring Orchid Terrarium Making Sessions – which you can pre-book online by clicking HERE or just drop in on the day.

It will be £50.00 per person and you’ll get everything you need to make your own open- topped terrarium on the day (glass vessel, substrates, 1 miniature orchid and 2 small houseplants) and you will be shown by Sara, our Orchid Expert, how to make your terrarium and maintain it once you get it home.

This price is a special £10 off the usual value to celebrate our Orchid Festival Weekend.

 

We also have some exciting visitors joining us this weekend, including these local orchid societies:

Devon Orchid Society – Our local orchid society who also hold their monthly meetings at our nursery

Cornwall Orchid Society – our friends from across the border!

South-West Orchid Society – based around Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire

Bournemouth Orchid Society – we also attend their busy shows in Hamworthy

All of the above societies will be putting on wonderful orchid displays of their members’ home-grown orchids so there is always something interesting to see in flower.


   

 

Tierney’s Crochet Bouquets –

Tierney creates gorgeous, hand-made, crochet bouquets as well as a variety of other floral crochet items.

She has a variety of flowers in a range of sizes, colours and styles. These everlasting flowers make wonderful gifts, requiring little to no effort to keep looking beautiful. She will be attending our Orchid Festival weekend with a range of crochet flowers available for sale including orchids!

Andy’s Air Plants

We are excited that Andy’s Air Plants will be joining us again for this year’s Orchid Festival! He was incredibly popular with our customers last year with his range of unusual and well-grown air plants for sale, which are ideal to grow with orchids.

Andy is an Air Plant expert, plant enthusiast, amateur botanist and plant collector from Cornwall. He has 20 years’ experience working in Horticulture and is RHS qualified.

Helen Millner

Helen is well known in the orchid world for her superb educational and historical displays winning medals including an RHS Gold Medal and Best Exhibit at this year’s RHS Orchid Show.  She has grown orchids for over 30 years and has been Chairman of the British Orchid Council and is an active member of the RHS Expert Orchid Group. Her particular interest is in miniature orchids and growing them in terrariums.

We look forward to welcoming Helen and husband Dave with another one of their beautifully designed displays to this year’s festival. 




Kate Boyce-Miles

We are thrilled to announce we will also be joined by Kate Boyce-Miles, a self-taught fine artist, who creates stunning zoological and botanical pieces. Kate's exquisite collection includes a breathtaking array of orchid artworks, capturing the delicate beauty of these incredible plants in watercolour, coloured pencil, and oils.

Her work will be on display and available to purchase throughout our Festival, and we couldn’t be more excited to share her talent with you!
