Malaxis porphyrea

A miniature orchid that loses its leaves in winter when it likes to be kept completely dry. In summer it flowers with upright stems of tiny deep purple flowers, going on for several months in succession. Keep a minimum 12°C in a shady position with regular watering throughout its growing season.

The average pot size for these plants is 6cm. They are potted in seedling mix.

When leafless in Winter the average height including the pot is 15cm.  When flowering the height is an average 40cm.
