Dienia ophrydis 'Frisky'
Formally called Malaxis latifolia ‘Frisky’, this is a deciduous orchid that loses its leaves and rests for the winter but is now starting to grow again. The flower stems emerge from the centre of the new leaf growth and grow up tall and straight with hundreds of deep pink flowers from yellowy-green buds! Keep minimum 12°C and dry in winter, water regularly in spring/summer.
The average pot size for these plants is 9-10cm. They are potted in seedling mix. When leafless the plants have an average height of 20cm. When in flower they have an average height of 50cm.
