HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW 2009

We gained a Silver medal here this time with a bright display of orchids shown off in coloured glass pots and vases.

HAMPTON COURT PALACE FLOWER SHOW JULY 2008

We were pleased with our SILVER medal for this show as we do a much smaller exhibit than at Chelsea. The week was wet to say the least, again! Typical Hampton weather in the last few years. But after the mud, the sun did come out and made a pleasant end to the week.

LONDON ORCHID SHOW MARCH 2008

We scored a hat trick this year as we acheived our third GOLD MEDAL in a row for this show. The event was very well attended and perhaps even a little crowded on Saturday morning with hundreds of orchid enthusiasts flocking to see the best first!

We were even filmed for a Slovenian gardening TV programme!

HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW JULY 2007

It was our 13th time at this wonderful show and it was lucky for us in spite of the very mixed weather conditions! A very wet and muddy start didn't stop getting a SILVER-GILT MEDAL which was great and brought our RHS Medal total to 2 golds and 1 silver gilt for 2007, possibly the best ever!

WORCESTOR ORCHID SOCIETY SHOW 31ST MARCH 2007

A successful day was had in Worcestor and Arthur was awarded the Cup for Best Display and a super certificate that includes a picture from the day!

RHS LONDON ORCHID SHOW 17TH & 18TH MARCH 2007

Golden Success in London!

We are very pleased to report that we managed to repeat our success of last year and were awarded a GOLD medal for our exhibit at the recent RHS London Orchid Show. That's two in a row now so all the more added pressure for next year! It was a great show, very busy too, as any of you who visited on the saturday will testify, so thank you to all the customers who came to see us over the whole weekend.

DUBLIN ORCHID FAYRE MARCH 2007

It was good to return to the Glasnevin Botanic Gardens in Dublin again for the annual Orchid Fayre and great to see so many of our Irish orchid friends in attendance. This now is a great regular event so look out for next year and don't miss the opportunity to get orchids not usually seen across the Irish Sea!

ORCHID FAYRE AT DINTON PASTURES AUGUST 2006

This was a new and exciting venue for the August Fayre and it worked really well. The beautiful setting in the country park with surrounding lakes made a great backdrop to our weekend. The event will be back there next year on August Bank Holiday weekend 2007. Near Wokingham, Berkshire.

In a sweleering week we had a busy show with a SILVER medal for our display. We diverted from our usual banked style and displayed the orchids in groups in smart black boxes.

For the first time is over 30 years of showing at this show we have had a GOLD medal for our exhibit! We were very pleased and it seemed so were the judges and the vistors alike!

RHS INTERNATIONAL ORCHID SHOW SEPTEMBER 2005

SILVER-GILT MEDAL

The RHS International Orchid Show held in London on 17th & 18th September proved to be fairly successful even though it was this year moved from the spring for this year only. It was good to see a whole different range of orchids in flower than we usually do and the visitors enjoyed it too. Although the size of our exhibit was not as big as usual, we were very pleased to be awarded a SILVER-GILT Medal for our colourful display.

We will be returning to the RHS in London once again next March 2006 (18th & 19th) as the show returns to its traditional time of year. We look forward to seeing you then.

HAMPTON COURT PALACE FLOWER SHOW JULY 2004

We had a wet and wild time at the Hampton Court Palace Show! High winds and mud didn't make for the best week but the visitors were still buoyant and enjoying the show. Even with the show being closed for half of the wednesday!! Thank you to all the people who came to see us at the event and thanks for all the compliments on our display. We gained a Silver Medal for our exhibit of colourful orchids including vandas, odontoglossums, phalaenopsis and thunias, which we had not exhibited before.

LONDON ORCHID SHOW 13th & 14th MARCH 2004

We are pleased to report that a silver-gilt medal was awarded for our large, showy and colourful exhibit at the London Orchid Show this year, as seen above. It was another busy event with lots of interesting species and hybrids on show.

Visitors should note that due to the WOC being held in Dijon in March 2005, the London Orchid Show will be held in the autumn of 2005, keep in touch for exact details nearer the time.

EUROPEAN ORCHID CONFERENCE 12th-16th MARCH 2003

This year the annual RHS London Orchid Show was upgraded in a superb fashion to be the European Orchid Conference. This event is held in a different European city every three years and last visited London in 1973. It was a welcome return with many exhibitors and orchid enthusiasts visiting from all the world, not just Europe. The four main days of the show turned out to be very busy and it was wonderful to be reaquainted with customers and freinds form all over the globe. Surely all of you who managed to get to the show could not fail to be impressed and enjoyed the great atmosphere.Also, a great time was had by all at the wonderful conference dinner held in the magnificent surroundings of the Houses of Parliament.

August Orchid Fayre 24th & 25th August 02
A great weekend was had by all at the August Orchid Fayre on the Bank Holiday weekend. The weather held out when it mattered and the second year at the Donnington Valley Golf Club went down very well with exhibitors and visitors alike. Thanks for making it the enjoyable weekend that it always is!

Coleman’s Garden Centre 3rd August 02

Record beating attendance helped to make this year’s trip to Coleman’s Garden Centre, Templepatrick, Northern Ireland a great success at the beginning of August. Thank you to all our Irish orchid friends for coming to see us, especially those who travelled up from Dublin! Over 150 people stayed to listen to Brian’s inspiring demonstration and that was just for the first sitting! We look forward to returning again, firstly to Dublin Botanic Gardens next year on 22-23 March 2003.

We are looking into making the carriage cheaper for sending orders to the Republic of Ireland. We realise that the cost of carriage can be off-putting to customers outside the UK but we try to keep it down as much as possible. The cost is calculated on weight so we can quote you for your particular order. Make a joint order with friends to spread the cost!

Silver Lining to the Hampton Court Clouds!

July has not been the warmest on record as I think you will agree and our week at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was no exception. If you were one of the thousands of visitors that attended then you will know all about the rain, wind and mud! But thankfully it did not seem to deter the keen plants-people who turned up despite the typical British summer weather!

And there was a Silver Lining, we were pleased to be awarded a Silver Medal for our display of colourful orchids and it was good to see so many familiar faces as well as a lot of new ones getting the orchid bug!

Chelsea Flower Show 21st – 24th May 02

GOLD ALL THE WAY!
Yes we did it again! Burnham Nurseries are proud to announce that we achieved our 6th Gold Medal in a row at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show! This makes 15 over the 45 years of exhibiting at the show which was once again an all round success. Thank you for all your good wishes and congratulations. It was good to see lots of regular visitors at the show plus make some new ones.
Thank you also to everyone who visited us for the Chelsea Preview at the nursery before the show. We held the 3-day event in aid of the Towersey Foundation for Musical Therapy and they were thrilled that over £1,000 was raised, including the popular Gala Evening which turned out to be a delightful candle-lit evening!

Thanks too to all the local papers that gave us such great coverage this year!

London Orchid Show 16th & 17th March 02

It was good to see everyone at the London Orchid Show this year at the Horticultural Halls, Vincent Square, London. It was very busy, as those of you who visited on the Saturday will know! We are pleased to say that we were awarded an R.H.S. Silver-Gilt Medal for our display. This is one of the biggest shows of the year and well worth a visit. Especially in 2003 when it will be enlarged to be the European Orchid Conference on 12th – 16th March.
