CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2001
Packing up the plants

All the orchids and foliage plants, some 300 plants, are
packed carefully in trays and crates with plenty of soft
tissue paper between them to prevent the flowers from bruising.
The key is to pack the plants tightly so that they do not
move around in the van.
Also we must not forget anything on our long list of items
to help us put the exhibit together, such as black backdrop
cloth and many sizes of black flowerpots to help raise plants
to different levels. Also bags of moss and bark chippings
to make the finishing touches and hide the plant pots from
the judges' view.
All packed up and ready to go, all that remains is to drive
200 miles to London and put up a medal-winning display!
